Sewage from Several Buildings in Davtashen is Discharged into the Hrazdan River
Sewage from several houses and buildings in the Davtashen administrative district is being discharged into the Hrazdan River. The sewage lines have been illegally connected to a rainwater drainage system that should only carry stormwater to the river. It is unclear which buildings' sewage is connected to this pipeline, and the relevant authorities lack information.
This information is reported by Hetq.
The sewage-rainwater pipeline runs under the road, discharging into the Hrazdan River from the address of 6 Yegvard Highway. The open discharge of sewage has caused a foul odor to spread in the area.
At the address of 6 Yegvard Highway, there is a public utility building whose owner has been petitioning the Water Committee, the Yerevan Municipality, the local administration, and the Veolia Water Company for over 10 years to resolve the issue so that sewage does not flow into the river.
Lawyer Khachik Danielyan, who is involved in the process of appealing to state bodies, says that for 10 years they have been warning the authorities to no avail and consistently receive the same generic responses.
