French President Heads Straight to Fairuz's Residence from Beirut Airport

French President Emmanuel Macron, who arrived in Beirut moments ago, went directly from the airport to the residence of Arab music star Fairuz. This was reported by sources from the Élysée Palace, as noted by the "Arevelq" news website.

The meeting between President Macron and singer Fairuz is symbolic, as the singer is considered a symbol of unity among all communities living in Lebanon. They will discuss the critical situation that has developed in Lebanon.

The 84-year-old singer lives in the Rabieh area of Lebanon. Earlier in an interview with "Arevleq", Armenian conductor Karen Durgaryan, who has collaborated with Fairuz, praised her artistry, stating: "Fairuz is a singer of love and prayer. Throughout her entire career, she has been a champion of peace." Fairuz is regarded as the most prominent name in Lebanese popular music.

Born in Lebanon to an Orthodox Assyrian family, Fairuz had a poor childhood and dreamed of becoming a singer from a young age. In her youth, she was noticed by the Rahbani brothers, who are significant figures in Arabic art. Fairuz began collaborating with them and later married one of the brothers, the renowned composer Assi Rahbani.

Fairuz and the Rahbani family had strong connections with Armenian artists, often hosting guests such as Aram Khachaturian, Alex Mnacakan, and numerous artists from the Armenian diaspora.
