Provocative guards must leave. The community is strong. This was stated by environmentalist Shirak Buniatyan on his Facebook page, sharing a video that reports the departure of the security guards of Lydian Armenia from the Amulsar area.

Earlier, the State Environmental Inspectorate had reported that on June 30 of this year, by inciting violent actions, Lydian Armenia brought a new security company, 'Special Security Service,' to the Amulsar area. Questions regarding the legality of their operations have been clarified in recent months through inquiries sent to the regulating body, the Police of Armenia.

Firstly, it has become clear that the 'Special Security Service' LLC, granted a security license on September 25, 2017, has no permission to possess or use civilian weapons and ammunition, while representatives of this company were seen on site armed with automatic rifles, later carrying batons. From the very first day of operations, the issue of armed guards posed significant problems for the locals, Amulsar defenders, and people passing through the Jermuk highway.

The company's director A. Danielyan responded on July 1 to Tehmine Yenokyan’s inquiry about carrying weapons, stating that they would decide based on the situation whether to carry arms or not. It is evident that the director has grossly violated the law by assuming the right to decide on the use of weapons for the company's employees, while the entire company has simply violated the terms of its security license.

The Police of Armenia has appealed to the Licensing Commission for Security and Guard Services with a proposal to suspend the license of 'Special Security Service' LLC. It has also been revealed that among the 68 employees of the 'Special Security Service,' only 18 have professional qualification in security services, while the remaining 50 have just begun such training. This information has come to light from a response the police provided to an MP.

It is unclear when the employees exhibiting aggressive behavior in Amulsar started their guard training, but it is a fact that over the past two months, Lydian has brought people to the Amulsar area, the vast majority of whom do not have security qualifications, while the certification committee for security and guard qualifications at the Police of Armenia has not conducted any qualification checks on those holding certificates.

It is also known that on August 3, Lydian Armenia’s lawyer Inga Andranik Sarafyan registered a new company named 'Lydian Security' at the State Register. The name of the company makes it clear that it is intended for security or guard services. There are rumors that Lydian plans to soon change its security service providers again and bring this new associated company to the area.
