Video: Syria Left Without Electricity Following Gas Pipeline Explosion; Terrorism Theory Not Excluded

The explosion of a gas pipeline in the Damascus region has led to widespread power outages in Syria, reports RIA Novosti, citing the country’s state television.

According to Syria’s Minister of Electricity Zouhair Harboul, the explosion occurred between the Arab gas pipeline in the areas of Al-Dumayri and Adra, which has resulted in widespread power outages across the country.

Ali Ghanem, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, has stated that the explosion of the gas pipeline supplying the southern regions of the country "may be a terrorist act."

He emphasized that the explosion has disabled three stations, and specialists are working to address the resulting issues. It has been noted that the electricity supply is gradually being restored.

“Electricity supply has been restored in central Damascus, and it will be gradually restored in other regions,” Ghanem announced, adding that technical staff has been carrying out restoration work since the moment of the explosion.
