Video: Deadly Poison Found in Navalny's Body, Endangering Surrounding Individuals
A deadly substance has been identified in the body of Alexei Navalny, the founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation of Russia, according to his wife, Yulia. The transport police discovered the material that poisoned her husband. This information was disclosed in a statement from Navalny's headquarters in Omsk.
"It (the substance) is dangerous for those around him. Those nearby need special clothing," the headquarters reported.
The name of the substance found in Navalny's body has not been revealed, as stated by the opposition leader's press secretary, Kira Yarmish. Ivan Zhdanov, director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, also reported that the transport police informed them it was a "secret of the investigation." Yarmish further released a video about the announcement made by Ivan Zhdanov and Yulia Navalny.
Yulia Navalny mentioned that she does not trust the Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1, where her husband is currently being treated. According to her, the doctors are keeping him in the clinic and not allowing him to be transferred to Europe, "so that the chemical substance in Alexei’s body disappears."
As previously reported, the chief physician of Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1, where Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny is situated, refused to permit his transfer to a German clinic. Navalny's press secretary Kira Yarmish characterized this ban as a "threat to Navalny's life." She believes that this decision was made not by the doctors but by the Kremlin.
It was also reported that German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated that they are ready to provide medical assistance in German hospitals, but a request must be received from Russia.
Recall that the condition of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny deteriorated yesterday while returning from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, and he was transported to the hospital by ambulance due to suspected poisoning, as announced on Twitter by his press secretary Kira Yarmish. She later reported that Navalny is in a coma and his condition is serious.
Several media outlets have reported that preliminary data suggest that Navalny may have been poisoned with sodium oxybutynin. It was also noted that Navalny consumed black tea at a café in Tomsk Airport, where an internal investigation is underway. The café owner told Interfax that they would clarify all details and review the footage from security cameras. The Tomsk transport police have initiated an inspection at the airport. The area around the hospital where Navalny is located is being monitored by police.
Later, Anatoly Kalinichenko, the deputy chief physician of Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1, reported that doctors managed to stabilize Navalny's condition. However, a final diagnosis has not yet been provided.
