VIDEO: Brother of Georgian MP Henzel Mkoyan's Car Blown Up
The car of Henzel Mkoyan's brother, a member of the Georgian Parliament, has been blown up. This information is confirmed by a video posted on Mkoyan's Facebook page.
In recent months, various forces have been pressuring Mkoyan, forcing him not to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The issue is that Mkoyan enjoys great popularity in the region, and all villages in his constituency support him as one.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time Mkoyan and his family have been subjected to attacks reminiscent of terrorism. Earlier, on March 26 of this year, a dispute erupted near the “Gold” café in Akhalkalaki between former Akhalkalaki police chief Samvel Petrosyan and MP Henzel Mkoyan, along with supporters from both sides. Gunshots were heard during the confrontation. Henzel Mkoyan claims that the dispute was instigated by Samvel Petrosyan. The former police chief, who served as a member of the Georgian Parliament from 2012 to 2016, has been unable to come to terms with the fact that he is no longer a deputy and has started to escalate the situation.
Henzel Mkoyan recounted the origins of this latest dispute: “My brother, who is a significant businessman employing hundreds of people, was confronted by a younger man, 30 years his junior, who told him, ‘You kicked up dust!’ My brother replied, ‘What dust? The whole city is dust!’ and then was hit with a stone. That’s where it all started. After that, the young man was not punished. Then, on the 26th, my brother’s son, a 12th grader, drove the car and was insulted by Samvel Petrosyan. The boy thought he was insulted for someone else, so he circled around by the church and came back again, telling him, ‘Well, I’m saying this to you,’ and was insulted again. My brother’s son then told my sons and nephews, ‘Let’s go see what this guy wants from us.’ They went to talk to the boy, and he recounted it to his father,” Mkoyan narrated.
Details of the incident that occurred today can be seen in the video.
