59-Year-Old Resident of Aragatsotn Region Arrested for Sexual Violations Against His Minor Son
The investigation into the case of a 59-year-old resident of the Aragatsotn region committing sexual offenses against his minor son has been completed by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Major Crimes Investigation Department. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
The investigation revealed that the 59-year-old man, under the threat of violence, committed sexual acts against his minor son born in 2004 in August 2019 and March 2020.
Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, the 59-year-old man has been charged under Article 139 (sexual offenses) of the RA Criminal Code, part 3, clause 1, which involves three episodes of such acts. He has been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
The investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the pre-investigation.
Note: The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law, as defined by a final court decision.
