Russian Su-27 Fighter Intercepts American Reconnaissance Aircraft

The Russian Su-27 fighter has escorted an American reconnaissance aircraft, the RC-135, over the Baltic Sea. According to TASS, this was announced on Wednesday by the National Defense Management Center of Russia.

The center reported that on August 19, Russian monitoring systems detected an airborne target approaching the Russian state border above the Baltic Sea. It was noted that to prevent a breach of the state border, the Su-27 fighter was launched, which is part of the air defense forces of the Baltic Fleet.

The center added that the American aircraft did not violate the country's borders.
