New Operation Launched Against PKK in Turkey
The command of the gendarmerie in the eastern province of Bingöl, Turkey, has launched the "Yıldırım-6 Karacehennem" operation with the participation of 700 personnel. This was announced by the Turkish Ministry of Interior. According to Ermenihaber, this operation is being conducted against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist organization in Turkey.
The aim of the military operation is to "completely eliminate the PKK from Turkish territory and neutralize Kurdish militants." Among the participants in the operation are also special forces from the gendarmerie and the police.
Prior to this, during the operations "Yıldırım-1-5" conducted within Turkish territory against the PKK, Turkish forces killed 22 Kurdish militants. As a result of these operations, the militants' hideouts and arsenals have been destroyed, and a significant amount of weapons and ammunition have been seized.
