VIDEO: Turkish Climbers Have Turned Mount Ararat into a Dumping Ground

The highest mountain in the Armenian Highlands, Mount Ararat, located in the Ağrı province of Turkey, has been turned into a dumping ground by Turkish climbers. This was reported by Ermenihaber.

During their climbing expedition, they left behind waste from the food they carried, which they dumped at the campsite located at an altitude of 4200 meters. One Turkish climber filmed the scenes and shared the footage on social media.

"If climbers are doing this, then what can we expect? Which municipal authority can clean this up? I also climbed to the top of the mountain in 2003. Whatever we took with us, we brought back. It’s not difficult," the climber lamented.

This issue was also addressed by Mevlüt Tezel, a journalist from the Turkish newspaper Sabah. In his column, he specifically wrote: "Those who litter in picnic areas on holidays are usually called 'stupid, uncivilized'. The climbers on Ağrı (Ararat) are educated climbers."
