VIDEO: Police Arrest Individuals Attempting to Rob Donut Shops

Police officers from the territorial subdivisions regularly patrol administrative areas to prevent, deter, and uncover crimes, which often allows them to catch offenders at the crime scene. This was reported by the Armenian Police.

On August 17, this was indeed the case in the Central administrative district. Around 1 AM, the operational management center received a call indicating that three masked individuals were attempting to steal from a donut shop on Mashtots Avenue. The duty officer relayed the alert to the patrol units in the area when a citizen called again to report that the police had already apprehended them.

Criminal investigators from the Central Police Department, along with the Special Patrol Service officers, noticed three suspicious youths during their patrol and detained them on suspicion of attempted theft. One of the young men was from the Southwest district, another from the village of Kutakan in the Gegharkunik Province, and the third was registered in the city of Hrazdan.

They had forced open the donut shop doors, stolen beverages, and attempted to flee, but the police apprehended them at the intersection of Koryun and Teryan streets.

A criminal case has been initiated. The investigation is ongoing.
