‘Homeland’ and ARF Have Identical Positions on Many Issues: Arthur Vanyan
On August 17, a meeting was held at the office of the ARF Central Committee in Artsakh with the president of the ‘Homeland’ party, Arthur Vanyan, and representatives of the ARF Central Committee, including David Ishkhanian, committee president Arthur Mosiyan, and committee member and Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations of the Artsakh National Assembly, Vahram Balayan. Members of the ‘Homeland’ party’s council were also present at the meeting, as reported in a statement from the party.
Highlighting the key role of the ARF in preserving national values and strengthening the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triad, Arthur Vanyan noted that the political force he leads and the ARF share identical positions on numerous issues, which could serve as a basis for developing a joint agenda and reinforcing the collaboration between the two political forces.
David Ishkhanian, representative of the ARF in Artsakh, reaffirming the observations of the leader of the partner political force, stated that the ARF is ready for cooperation. “In Artsakh, both the government and the opposition have a united approach regarding the resolution of the Artsakh issue, which, unfortunately, has become less noticeable in the political arena of Armenia recently. I believe that the issues falling within the realm of state and national interests must be prioritized for everyone, regardless of party affiliation,” emphasized Arthur Vanyan.
David Ishkhanian from the Artsakh CC noted that internal unity has always prevailed in Artsakh regarding foreign and security policy, which will likely continue in the future. “Regardless of the fact that today our position in the internal political arena is oppositional, and there are disagreements on various issues related to conduct, political activity, and state governance, nevertheless, in terms of foreign policy, we all have identical approaches,” said David Ishkhanian.
The leader of the ‘Homeland’ party reaffirmed the party’s stance on resolving the Artsakh issue, emphasizing that peaceful resolution has no alternative. Speaking about the activities of his political force, Arthur Vanyan mentioned that ‘Homeland’ has positioned itself as an opposition party in Armenia and is already engaging in active political work. Territorial structures have been opened in all regions of the Republic of Armenia, and a substantial mass of supporters focused on preserving national traditions and values has been formed.
