VIDEO: Until you kill me, there will be no other choice. Lukashenko arrives by helicopter to meet strike participants

The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, landed by helicopter at the Minsk Aviation Plant, where he met with participants of a strike, reports RIA Novosti.

According to the source, traffic in the factory area is not restricted. The helicopter landed around 10:00 local time.

During his meeting with the employees of the Minsk Aviation Plant, Lukashenko stated that new elections would not be held in the country.

“Never expect that I can do something under pressure. They will not come to power. Because there will neither be the Minsk Aviation Plant, nor the Minsk Automobile Plant, nor the Belarusian Automobile Plant; everything will be destroyed in six months,” Lukashenko's words are quoted by BelTA agency.

“You talk about unfair elections and want to hold fair elections?” the president asked. “I answer this question: we have held elections. Until you kill me, there will be no other choice,” he added.

He urged to redistribute state powers through constitutional processes rather than street actions.

Lukashenko also stated that he has opened additional jobs to ensure that people are not left without means of livelihood. “The ‘bad’ president opened additional jobs so that people would not be left on the street. Whoever wants to work, let them work. If they do not want to work, well, we will not force them,” said Lukashenko.

Following the presidential elections held on August 9 in Belarus, employees of the Minsk Aviation Plant declared a one-day strike, emphasizing that if their demands are not met, the strike will turn into an indefinite one.

Protests have continued in Belarus since the presidential elections, with participants expressing their dissatisfaction with the election results, which indicated that the incumbent president, Alexander Lukashenko, won with 80% of the votes, while Svetlana Tikhanovskaya received only 10.12%.

According to official data, more than 6,700 people were arrested in the first few days. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, hundreds of people were injured during the unrest, including more than 120 law enforcement officers, and one protester was killed.
