Attack on Hotel in Somalia Leaves Over 20 Dead

In an attack at the Elite Hotel located in the famous Liido beach area of Somalia, assailants carried out an explosion and assault. According to Somali Guardian, at least 20 people have been killed, and 35 have been injured.

It is reported that a car was detonated near the hotel on Sunday afternoon, after which militants from the group Al-Shabaab launched an attack and took hostages.

The security forces have since completed an operation to free the hotel from the militants. All assailants have been eliminated.
