A Member of the PKK Arrested in Turkey with 37 kg of TNT
The Turkish Ministry of Interior has reported the arrest of a member of the terrorist organization known as the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The Kurdish militant was found to be in possession of 37 kg of TNT explosive material, according to aa.com.tr.
The operation to arrest the man, who was planning to carry out terrorist activities in various cities of the country, took place in the Adana province, which is part of present-day Turkey. It has been reported that the Kurdish militant stopped one of the vehicles traveling along the highway and requested the driver to drop him off near a nearby settlement.
During the journey, at one of the checkpoints, the vehicle was stopped, and the militant was neutralized.
It is important to note that the PKK is a Kurdish organization established in 1978 by Abdullah Ocalan, with the primary aim of establishing a Kurdish independent state through armed struggle in southeastern Turkey, northern Iraq, northwestern Iran, and northeastern Syria. A new phase in Turkish-Kurdish relations escalated in the summer of 2015.
