Iran Claims the United States is Isolated in the UN Security Council
The results of the voting on the extension of the arms embargo against Iran in the UN Security Council indicate that the United States is isolated, declared Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, according to TASS.
He stated that the resolution put forward by the U.S. was illegal and therefore rejected by international partners.
Earlier, the UN Security Council did not approve the U.S. proposed resolution to extend the arms embargo against Iran. Only the U.S. and the Dominican Republic voted in favor, while Russia and China opposed it, with the other countries abstaining.
The current arms import embargo is set to expire in October of this year.
