Belarusian authorities have transferred 32 of the 33 arrested militants from the Wagner private military group to Russia. One of them holds a Belarusian passport and remains in Minsk.
The Belarusian government suspects the Wagner militants of inciting disturbances and intending to commit murders within the country. Many of them have previously 'come to attention' in Donbas and Syria.
President Lukashenko had threatened to extradite them to Ukraine but ultimately returned them to Russia under pressure from Moscow.
