Head of Lukashenko's Information Department Dismissed

The head of the information department of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's administration, Dmitry Semchenko, has been dismissed from his position. This was reported by Belarusian outlet The Village, citing Lenta.ru.

Semchenko's wife, Yuliana, confirmed the news of his dismissal. “Please give it some time. He will write everything soon,” she told reporters.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that Belarusian journalists had begun to leave state television and radio channels en masse against the backdrop of ongoing protests and violence against citizens.

Protests in Belarus began following the presidential elections held on August 9, which resulted in widespread dissatisfaction among citizens who took to the streets to voice their discontent. Incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko was declared the winner of the elections.
