Has Narek Sargsyan Been Taken to a Psychiatric Hospital?

As is known, after the relocation of Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, also known as Franklin Gonzales, to Armenia, the National Security Service (NSS) began active investigative actions. According to ArmLur.am sources, Narek Sargsyan has been transferred to a psychiatric hospital, where he faced one of his bodyguards.

Moreover, Narek Sargsyan has been in Armenia for 6 months and is under arrest, but he has not yet given testimony to the NSS investigators.

The questions of whether Narek Sargsyan has really been taken to a psychiatric hospital and whether he has given testimony at all remain open. We attempted to obtain answers to these questions from Narek Sargsyan's lawyer, Arthur Pivazyan.

Recall that in 2018, Aram Karapetyan filed a complaint with the main department of criminal investigation of the police regarding the actions of Narek Sargsyan, reporting a crime. A criminal case was initiated based on the materials prepared by the main department of criminal investigation.

During the investigation, it was revealed that in 2017, a 49-year-old man living in Yerevan was kidnapped and beaten. The preliminary data indicated that the man wanted to establish a nightclub that would attract foreign tourists. However, it is said that Narek Sargsyan learned about this and did not allow it.

As a result, according to law enforcement, in mid-August, Narek Sargsyan's head of security, Artem Petrosyan, invited him to a meeting. At the intersection of Tumanyan and Nalbandyan Streets in Yerevan, Petrosyan, with other individuals, kidnapped the man and took him to the basement of Narek Sargsyan's apartment building.

In connection with this same criminal case, three of Narek Sargsyan's bodyguards are now facing the court. Specifically, Samvel Sosyan, Harutyun Abrahamyan, and Hovhannes Davtyan have been charged with committing kidnapping against an individual by using dangerous violence or threatening to use it, by employing firearms or objects used as firearms in a blatant manner, in agreement with a group of persons beforehand. All three bodyguards are detained, and their criminal case is being heard in the general jurisdiction court of Yerevan, chaired by Judge Karen Farhoyan.
