Belarus CEC Publishes Presidential Election Results in Minsk
The Central Election Commission of Belarus has published the voting results of the presidential elections in Minsk, according to the РИА Новости news agency.
In Minsk, 64.49% of voters supported Alexander Lukashenko, while his main rival, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, received 14.92% of the votes.
The CEC also released the voting results from the regions. In the Mogilev region, 88.06% of voters supported Lukashenko, while only 4.73% supported Tikhanovskaya. In the Minsk region, 79.23% voted for Lukashenko, and 11.81% voted for Tikhanovskaya. In the Grodno region, Lukashenko received 78.72% of the votes, with Tikhanovskaya receiving 13.81%.
In other regions of Belarus, approximately 80% voted for Lukashenko, while Tikhanovskaya received 5-10% of the votes.
Days earlier, the Belarus CEC announced preliminary results indicating that Alexander Lukashenko garnered 80.08% of the votes, while Svetlana Tikhanovskaya received 10.09%.
