Urgent: Ban on Gatherings, Protests, and Mass Events Lifted
Protests and marches can now be held in Armenia, provided that participants wear masks and maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a recent government session.
Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan, presenting the draft to extend the state of emergency, also outlined the changes that will be implemented. In particular, the ban on allowing individuals without Armenian citizenship to enter the country has been lifted. It is also stipulated that when entering Armenia, if no hospitalization is required for the individual, they will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine. However, during this time, they can undergo testing, and if the result is negative, there will be no need for quarantine.
The prohibition on gatherings and strikes throughout Armenia has been removed. This will be replaced by a permitting system, but under certain conditions regarding compliance with rules. In particular, wearing masks and maintaining social distance is mandatory.
