Azerbaijan and Turkey Extend Joint Military Exercises: Tigran Abrahamyan
Former advisor to the President of Artsakh, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "The joint military exercises announced by Azerbaijan and Turkey, which were scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 10, have effectively been extended.
This conclusion can be drawn from today's statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, which not only informs about the visit of the Turkish Minister of Defense and Chief of General Staff but also details that the visitors from Turkey will monitor the final stages of the first phase of the exercises.
I reiterate that according to the previously published plan, the exercises were supposed to conclude on August 10; however, for various reasons, they are still ongoing. It is still difficult to say how many phases these exercises will go through and what new developments they may encounter, but it is evident that the officially announced deadlines are not being adhered to.
Considering the complex geopolitical situation in the region and the stalemate in negotiations, the current developments create the potential for new tensions. In this regard, intermediary countries also have significant responsibilities in neutralizing new regional threats, restraining Turkey's ambitions, and returning Azerbaijan to the political arena."
