Video: OMON and Internal Troops Arrive in Central Minsk

OMON and internal troops from Belarus are arriving in the center of Minsk. According to the TASS news agency, a column of special forces from OMON is moving through Independence Avenue towards the city center.

Buses carrying special units are stationed near Independence Square. However, traffic has not yet been blocked. Several units of special equipment and water cannons have been deployed near the "Minsk, Hero-City" monument, where massive protests have taken place over the past two days.

It was recently revealed that seven metro stations in Minsk have been closed without warning. Trains are passing through without stopping.

As a reminder, protests in Belarus began following the presidential elections held on August 9, results of which dissatisfied citizens and opposition supporters have taken to the streets.
