Marukyan Appeals to Suren Papikyan Regarding the Road Leading to the Khndzoresk Suspension Bridge
I have submitted a proposal to Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, suggesting the reconstruction of the road leading to the Khndzoresk suspension bridge.
This was announced in a Facebook post by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia faction, who wrote: "The famous suspension bridge connecting the old and new Khndzoresk communities in the Syunik Province is a tourist attraction. The bridge offers a view of the gorge, where the Monastery of Anapat is located, with the grave of Marshal Mkrtich Sparapet in its courtyard. At the other end of the bridge lies a cave city.
However, the only road leading there is in very poor condition, hindering the increase in the number of tourists. Therefore, I have proposed to reconstruct the road leading to the Khndzoresk suspension bridge, which will definitely have a positive impact on tourism flow and the living conditions of the local population."
