Levon Sargsyan, 'Alraghatsi Lyovik,' Detained
The motion to apply detention as a measure of restraint against Levon Sargsyan has been granted by the court, and he has been detained. This was announced by Goor Abrahamyan, the advisor to the Attorney General, in response to a query from 'Azatutyun.' The decision was published by the court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan on Saturday night.
Sargsyan, known by the nickname 'Alraghatsi Lyovik,' is accused of participating in armed robbery as part of a gang with the aim of stealing property on a particularly large scale, a crime committed twelve years ago. This refers to the armed robbery of the home of former head of the State Revenue Committee, Armen Avetisyan, in 2008. After the revolution, the National Security Service reported that the real mastermind behind the attack is Levon Sargsyan.
