I Won't Say 'Wake Up, Crazy People, This is a Small Country,' I Will Say 'Wake Up, Crazy Ones, This is a Small Country' - Vladimir Gasparyan

The same 'Freedom' was preaching and slandering the police in the same way during the 'Sasna Tsrer' events when I was police chief. This is the same 'Freedom' that does not recognize the Armenian Genocide, and this is the same 'Freedom' that advocates for all the phenomena that do not suit our nation. This was stated by the former Chief of Police of Armenia, General Vladimir Gasparyan, in an interview with PARA TV regarding the events and responses that occurred around his private residence on the shores of Lake Sevan on August 8.

'This was a provocation and it wasn’t the first one. Many people who have worked with me have told me, you know what, we are not guilty, this comes from above. After any change of power, phenomena occur in the country; we must be patient and understand what is happening. I endured this patiently for 2 years. But now they are entering into families, which means intimidation. Who are they trying to intimidate, me? I have intimidated myself my entire life. I told them, boys, you will be held accountable, and probably scared of that, they went and said the car was rushing at us and so on. May God judge me by my righteousness, forgive them for their injustice, because they are young and perhaps do not know what they are doing. If for the sake of protecting my family they are making political decisions to arrest me, then they should have arrested me yesterday.'

Responding to the commentator’s remark that 'your arrest is getting delayed,' Vladimir Gasparyan said that the issue is not about the arrest, it has gone beyond the personal sphere. 'Everything has become pan-Armenian; there is fear everywhere, terror everywhere, blackmail, it has become disgusting.' In response to the commentator's question, 'Are you ready to be sacrificed if the revolution decides so?' the former police chief replied, 'Even if I am arrested, I cannot be a victim. I have seen so much death, I have gone through so much; I am always psychologically prepared for anything. I have seen more brutal things, lost friends, fought... And I am not going to tolerate it; tomorrow you might see a drone in front of your window and realize that 'Freedom' wanted to know what you were doing inside. If in a state, one must tolerate, excuse my language, lawlessness, that state must be put in its place. I won’t say, ‘Wake up, crazy people, this is a small country,’ I will say, ‘Wake up, crazy ones, this is a small country.’ There are people who become wise due to fear, and there are those who become more…' Vladimir Gasparyan did not finish his thought.
