Araik Harutyunyan Participates in Government Session on COVID-19 Regulations: How the Academic Year Will Begin

The media reported that today, Araik Harutyunyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, was scheduled to meet with members of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly. However, ArmLur.am has learned that today's meeting will not take place once again, as the minister is participating in a government session focused on COVID-19 regulations, where the reopening of educational institutions starting September 1 is being discussed.

It should be noted that until now, three scenarios have been under consideration by the COVID-19 Regulation Committee for the resumption of the academic process. A final decision is expected to be made in the coming days. The first option, which is the least desirable for the ministry, is to start the academic year remotely. The second option suggests resuming classes in schools while adhering to anti-epidemic measures, and the third, considered the most effective, is to transition to differentiated instruction, taking into account the varying number of students in different schools.
