Vladimir Gasparyan to File Lawsuit Against Radio Liberty

Attorney Tigran Atanesyan announced that he will file a lawsuit on behalf of former Chief of Police of Armenia, Vladimir Gasparyan, related to the actions of Radio Liberty employees.

“I am preparing to file a lawsuit on behalf of the former Chief of Police of Armenia, General Lieutenant Vladimir Gasparyan, regarding the actions of the employees of Radio Liberty, which serves as a pillar of a foreign agent network. The constitutional rights of Armenian citizens—such as the inviolability of the home, and the right to privacy and family life—must be protected from all, including anti-national, stateless forces,” Atanesyan wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Radio Liberty, during the preparation of a report regarding illegal villas and other constructions along the shores of Lake Sevan, Vladimir Gasparyan obstructed the work of the radio station's journalists. “He drove a vehicle towards the journalists, threatening to run them over and physically eliminate them with phrases like ‘to smash’ and ‘to kill,’ as well as using insults to demand that they not show his villa,” the radio station's website stated.

Radio Liberty's president, Daisy Sindelair, condemned the obstruction of the work of the station's journalists in Armenia by former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan.
