SATM Discovers Violations of Mass Event Ban
The Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has conducted intensified inspections in Yerevan and regions over the weekend, revealing that previously recorded issues have significantly decreased. This was reported by the Armenian government.
“Strict monitoring activities are frequently carried out during weekends, and each subsequent inspection documents a significant reduction in previously recorded problems. Issues were identified during ongoing monitoring of food chain organizations both in the capital and in the regions. In cafes and other public food establishments, the main violations were related to the requirements for accurately filling out disinfection and temperature measurement logbooks. Business operators assure that disinfection is carried out properly, but some negligence is observed in completing the logbooks,” the statement continued.
The nighttime inspection on Saturday in Yerevan's nightclubs and cafes found that the decision of the head of the municipality regarding the prohibition of mass events was not being upheld.
There have been also problems recorded in the implementation network regarding temperature measurement, disinfection log records, application of disinfectant solutions, and improper wearing of masks, among several others. Based on the violations recorded by the SATM inspectors, several suspension requests will be sent to the municipality head.
Although it is evident that business operators are now more informed and thus more law-abiding and conscientious regarding the sanitary-epidemiological rules established by the head of the municipality, the SATM continues to urge strict adherence to safety norms aimed at preventing the spread of the pandemic,” the statement concluded.
