Pashinyan Approves the Composition of YSU Board of Trustees
The Prime Minister of Armenia has approved the composition of the Board of Trustees of Yerevan State University (YSU), which consists of 32 members, as reported by the university's website.
According to the charter of the Yerevan State University Foundation, the YSU Board of Trustees is formed from the university’s faculty and students, as well as recognized representatives from various sectors of education, science, culture, and economy nominated by the authorized body, with a balanced representation of 25 percent from each group.
It is noteworthy that the YSU Scientific Council has elected candidates for the Board of Trustees from the faculty through a secret ballot, while the Student Council has selected representatives from the student body through the same procedure.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for appointing the rector of YSU, discussing and approving the university's budget, strategic development plan, reviewing and evaluating the annual activity report provided by the rector, confirming the university's structure, staffing table, and performing other functions specified in the charter.
