Germany to Provide 10 Million Euros to Lebanon

The German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has announced that Germany will provide 10 million euros to Lebanon as immediate aid to address the aftermath of the explosion at the Beirut port.

According to him, the residents of Beirut need assistance. “I am very pleased to promise an additional 10 million euros today on behalf of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany,” Maas stated.

At the same time, he reminded that Lebanon had serious issues even before the disaster. The minister believes that the country needs reforms for sustainable transformations.

Maas also called on Lebanese authorities to organize a transparent investigation into the causes of the explosion.
