40 People Registered for Immediate Arrival from Lebanon to Armenia: Zareh Sinanyan

The Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, reports that there are registered Armenian-Lebanese individuals at the Armenian Embassy in Lebanon who wish to come to Armenia and live there. Sinanyan made this statement during a conversation with journalists at the "Zvartnots" airport.

He emphasized that the registered individuals have been divided into several categories. The first category includes those who are openly eager to come to Armenia but cannot do so due to their circumstances. 'Naturally, we anticipate that individuals can arrive in Armenia even on the first flight carrying humanitarian aid to Lebanon,' said Sinanyan, detailing that the number of registered Lebanese Armenians wishing to come to Armenia as soon as possible is 40.

According to him, the other categories of registered individuals are larger in number. 'These are people who want to come to Armenia but cannot do so right now because they are trying to resolve their real estate issues and want to ascertain their situation after these destructions,' explained the Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs.

Sinanyan also mentioned that the Armenian delegation in Lebanon will hold meetings with representatives from the Armenian Catholic Church, the Prelacy, political parties, religious groups, and civic organizations. 'We especially want to meet with individuals, visit Armenian-populated neighborhoods, not only to witness the destruction, but also to understand the mood of our compatriots, what they live on, what problems they face, and how firmly and seriously the idea of repatriation is anchored within them. Based on everything we observe, we will formulate our future steps,' he noted.

He also announced that the Armenian delegation heading to Lebanon includes: MP Hratchya Hakobyan from the “My Step” faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Haikak Arshamyan, Head of the Office of the Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs Sara Anjagolyan, and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Varag Siseryan.
