Court Approves Detention of Former Regulatory Commission Member Mushegh Koshchiyan for Two Months

The Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court has granted the request to detain former member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Mushegh Koshchiyan, as a measure of restraint. The charges have been brought under Article 308, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to the abuse of official powers, in connection with the same case where former chairman Robert Nazaryan is also facing charges.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to Koshchiyan and Nazaryan, charges have also been brought against former deputy chairman Nikolay Grigoryan and former member Shiraz Kirakosyan. The investigator has submitted a request for their detention as well.

As previously reported, during the pre-trial investigation of the criminal case, sufficient evidence was obtained indicating that due to the actions of Robert Nazaryan and the aforementioned members of the commission, the tariffs established for the sale of electricity produced and supplied by the company
