Another Virus Spreading Through Tick Bites in China

A new strain of virus is spreading in China that could have fatal outcomes, as reported by Global Times.

Since the beginning of 2020, 60 people have been infected with the SFTS virus, with 7 fatalities. Symptoms of infection include fever, cough, and a decrease in leukocytes and platelets in the blood.

Doctors believe that the virus is primarily transmitted through tick bites, but human-to-human transmission through blood or pus cannot be ruled out.
