Three Main Scenarios for Resuming the Academic Year Discussed with the Commandant's Office: Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports informs that, considering the upcoming academic year during the state of emergency, the options for reopening general education institutions and universities were discussed at a meeting of the Commandant's Office on August 5.

“As the academic year approaches, the Commandant's Office has prioritized attention to the sectors of general and higher education. Depending on the epidemiological situation, we already have models for reopening general education institutions and universities,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, adding that the final plan will be presented to the public after August 10.

The Ministry of Education has also indicated that three main scenarios for resuming the academic year have been discussed with the Commandant's Office: starting the academic year with remote learning, resuming classes through blended or hybrid teaching while adhering to anti-epidemic rules, and differentiated instruction taking into account the varying number of students in schools. According to this option, in schools where the number of students does not exceed 100, the educational process can be organized in compliance with anti-epidemic rules, while larger schools will implement shift work and other principles.
