The Number of Those Wanting to Come from Lebanon to Armenia is Very High: Zareh Sinanyan
On Saturday, I am going to Lebanon, to Beirut, and I will become more acquainted with the situation more realistically on the ground. This was stated by the Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, during a conversation with reporters, addressing the issue of Armenians wanting to come to Armenia after the explosion in Beirut.
“At this moment, it seems that the number of people wanting to come to Armenia is indeed very high, but there is no substantial, numerical assessment of these individuals, which complicates our work a bit,” Sinanyan noted.
According to him, there is a physical issue for those people who do not have citizenship or a residency status in coming to Armenia. “We need to find a way for them to be able to return to their homeland. This is not an absolute legal right, but it is an absolute moral right for every Armenian,” Sinanyan emphasized.
