Lebanon's Interior Minister to Resign if Blast Investigation Fails to Identify Culprits

Lebanon's Interior Minister Mohamad Fahmi has announced that he intends to resign if the investigation into the circumstances of the Beirut blast does not identify those responsible. This information was reported by TASS news agency, citing the "Al-Hadath" television channel.

"I intend to wait for the results of the investigation, and if certain individuals are not identified as responsible for the explosion, I will submit my resignation," the minister stated.

It is worth noting that the explosion occurred on August 4. According to the latest data, 157 people lost their lives, including 11 Armenians. Around 5,000 people were injured, and more than 300,000 were left homeless.

According to the country's Ministry of Interior, 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate, which had been confiscated six years ago, exploded in a warehouse at the port.
