What assistance will the government provide to Beirut Armenians? Will Armenians have the opportunity to return?

Discussions are currently underway to understand how we can assist the Armenians in Beirut. Amalya Karapetyan, spokesperson for the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, stated this in an interview with Auroranews.

It is worth mentioning that Edmond Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia faction in the National Assembly, noted that many Armenians living in Beirut are requesting to return to Armenia due to the terrifying explosion that occurred.

When we inquired from Karapetyan whether a special charter flight is planned for our compatriots to return to Armenia soon, she said: “At this moment, I cannot say definitively, as consultations and discussions are being held in the office. By the end of the day, we will probably be able to provide a clearer answer based on the outcomes of those discussions.”

Karapetyan also mentioned that an Armenia-Lebanon flight had occurred an hour before the explosion, allowing many Lebanese Armenians to return home. “This Tuesday, we had an Armenia-Lebanon flight, and we will have another next Tuesday as well. Many Armenians are returning home on these flights.”
