Head of Syunik's Ujanis Community Injured in Accident
On August 5, a report was received by the Kapan police department from the Kapan medical center about a citizen being transported there with bodily injuries.
According to shamshyan.com, an operational group from the Kapan police department headed by community police inspector Gasparyan went to the hospital. Officers from the 2nd company of the traffic police, including investigator Vahe Kostanyan, also arrived on the scene.
Police established that the injured individual is 28-year-old Sasun Sargsyan, the administrative head of the Ujanis community in Syunik province. He had lost control of his VAZ 2121 vehicle in the area known as “Pela Sar” around 6:20 AM on August 4 and crashed into rocks under unknown circumstances, resulting in bodily injuries that required hospitalization.
In connection with the incident, materials are being prepared by investigator Vahe Kostanyan.
Note: A suspect in a criminal offense is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, and a court ruling that has entered into legal force.
