The Upcoming Revolution Will Likely Be Difficult to Achieve Bloodlessly, Says Garegin Miskaryan

Garegin Miskaryan, a member of the Citizen's Decision Social-Democratic Party, posted on his Facebook page: "The decision-makers regarding Amulsar are sitting in Yerevan. Our fight is not with 'Lydian'. 'Lydian' has invested money and wants to make a profit. It is not 'Lydian' that has violated the rights of the people of Jermuk, but the corrupt regime of Armenia that granted it a license.

A revolution was supposed to happen to protect the rights of Armenian citizens from corrupt officials and oligarchs. If after the 'revolution', people are still fighting for their previously violated rights, then that was not a revolution and there is a real need for a revolution in this country. That revolution may not happen today or tomorrow, but it is approaching much faster than those who have assumed power through regime change can imagine.

The sad thing is that the upcoming revolution will likely be difficult to achieve bloodlessly. You cannot enter the same river twice. In this case, the responsibility lies with those who seized the people's power under the guise of revolution and continue the same economic and political course inherited from their predecessors—those who have criminally usurped the state.

Amulsar will not become a mine, first and foremost, because that is what the people of Jermuk want. It is time for the struggle for the rights of the Jermuk people to be brought to Yerevan. The decision-maker is in Yerevan and the route that 'Lydian' is currently taking has been decided from Yerevan.

Nicole has made several different promises regarding Amulsar and has kept none of them. I believe the time given to him for the Amulsar criminal case and others has run out, and now it is time to seek answers.

Our country does not have enough resources for the capable part of the population to neglect their affairs for several months to follow 'Lydian' and play on posts. The time to resolve this issue has long matured. It is time for those responsible to explain how and when we will close this issue, or step aside to do what they are capable of—so that we know what to expect.
