38-Year-Old Man Bludgeons 68-Year-Old Security Guard to Death with Metal Rod
The police have solved the murder case that occurred on August 3 in Vanadzor. According to the Armenian Police, at 11:05 PM on August 3, the Gugark division of the police received a report from the Vanadzor ambulance station that a 68-year-old guard had died in the area of the workshop on Planta Street in the village of Darpas.
Officers from the operational group, who went to the scene, determined that the man's wife had discovered his body around 8:40 PM. An external examination of the corpse revealed a head injury.
A criminal case has been initiated on the basis of Article 104, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (Murder). As a result of operational investigative measures, police officers identified the suspect and, through explanatory work, at 12:45 PM, a 38-year-old resident of Vanadzor appeared at the Gugark division of the police. He stated that he struck the guard on the head twice with a metal rod.
The weapon used in the crime was found and seized during the examination of the scene. The man has been presented to the investigative body. The investigation continues.
