Emergency Incident in Yerevan: Injured Person Tried to Harm Assisting Doctor
Investigations are underway at the Kanaker-Zeytun police department regarding an incident that occurred in Yerevan on August 2. At approximately 20:15, the police received a report that a medical team was dispatched to an apartment on Lepsiusi Street, where the injured person had attempted to harm the doctor who came to assist.
It was revealed that a 44-year-old resident of the apartment, Edgar R., was injuring himself and did not allow the emergency medical team from the Yerevan 1-03 service to provide assistance. He also attacked doctor Niko A.
Some time later, a report was received from the first university hospital stating that Edgar R. had been admitted with "lacerations and puncture wounds to the left hand and lower extremities." Upon arrival, Edgar R.'s father informed the police that his son had injured himself with sharp objects at home. After receiving medical assistance at the first university hospital, Edgar R. was transferred to the Armenia Medical Center at 22:35. According to sources, Edgar R.'s wife notified the police that her husband had harmed himself due to issues at work and while under the influence of alcohol. Edgar R. works as a security personnel.
