Trump's Nomination from the Republican Party Will Occur Without Media Presence

The official nomination of Donald Trump for the position of President of the United States from the Republican Party will take place without the presence of the media in North Carolina, reports AFP.

Due to the rise in coronavirus cases, the U.S. President had already been forced to cancel part of the convention planned for July in Jacksonville, Florida.

"We plan to close all events to the press in Charlotte on Friday, August 21, and Monday, August 24, considering the medical restrictions in place in the state. We are working within the framework of the restrictions set by the state and local directives regarding the number of people who can attend the event,” explained the convention's press service.
