Concerning Violations in Large Hotels of Tsaghkadzor: The State Health Inspectorate to Submit Suspension Requests Again

Considering the large number of vacationers during the summer season, and consequently the higher risks of coronavirus infection due to non-compliance with safety regulations, the Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia has recently focused its attention on recreation facilities.

Today, the Health Inspection Body conducted enhanced supervisory activities in Tsaghkadzor. Significant violations were registered in several large hotels in the area. The most concerning violations relate to disinfection activities, where implementation and registration in registers are being done with significant shortcomings.

Often, regulations regarding closed garbage bins, temperature checks for employees, record-keeping of those checks, and safety protocols in swimming pools and other standards are not observed. The Health Inspection Body reminds that, according to Decision 230-N of the Armenian Prime Minister, new rules have been established for ensuring safety in gyms and swimming pools. In particular, it is essential to have alcohol-based disinfectant containers available in visible locations beside each piece of fitness equipment.

However, many recreation facilities have simply failed to adhere to these and other norms. Today, suspensions of operations for several large hotels will again be submitted to the Prime Minister. The Health Inspection Body's intensified supervisory activities continue across the entire country.
