Calls in European Parliament to Sanction Perpetrators of Repression in Azerbaijan

The second largest group in the European Parliament, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), has issued a statement. This is reported by the Permanent Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

The statement reads: “Given the seriousness of the human rights situation in Azerbaijan, we call on the European Union to impose sanctions against those Azerbaijani officials who are responsible for the repression against the opposition and civil society in Azerbaijan.”
