Yerevan's Hotel Complexes Mainly Not Operating, Situation in Regions Is Satisfactory: State Food Safety Service
The enforcement of the decisions made by the Prime Minister of Armenia is under weekly supervision by inspectors from the State Food Safety Service (SFSS) within the public catering establishments across the republic, particularly in the restaurants and cafeterias of hotels and boarding houses.
Due to the restrictions imposed by the state of emergency, many hotels in Yerevan and their dining facilities are not operational, while those that are open do not provide public catering services.
In contrast, the cafes and restaurants in boarding houses in the regions are under the constant attention and supervision of the SFSS, where the sanitary and hygienic norms related to the coronavirus are mostly being adhered to. Only two establishments were found in violation, where employees and customers were not wearing masks properly, a situation that was promptly corrected upon the inspector's directive. Additionally, one operator had an incomplete temperature measurement log.
The State Food Safety Service urges all organizations operating within the food chain to comply with the established requirements and encourages citizens to report any violations to the SFSS hotline.
