«Hraparak». NSS Initiates New Case Against Vanetsyan, Arrest Made

«Hraparak» newspaper reports: "Yesterday, we wrote that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is personally coordinating the progress of criminal cases initiated against former NSS director and leader of the 'Fatherland' party, Arthur Vanetsyan. The NSS had summoned him for questioning on charges of abuse of official powers.

Additionally, it was announced that 'Arthur Vanetsyan, disregarding the legally established age restrictions, appointed a 51-year-old lieutenant colonel who had previously been released from service to a senior position (department head) by order dated July 18, 2018,' which Vanetsyan and his lawyer labeled as absurd and a lack of legal understanding.

And since the accusation is indeed absurd and the political motivation is obvious, as per our information, the preparatory materials were rejected yesterday, and this case remains closed without being initiated.

However, given that the Prime Minister's directive is very strict—to initiate persecution against Vanetsyan at all costs—the NSS opened a new case yesterday and even made an arrest. They are now attempting to present charges of illegal weapons possession against Arthur Vanetsyan.

"The absurdity of this scenario is that the weapon, which is allegedly illegal and belongs to Vanetsyan, is not in his possession, such as in his home or office, but rather in the NSS itself. We have been instructed to state that an illegal weapon was found in one of the NSS's offices, which belongs to A. Vanetsyan," said our NSS source.

Incidentally, the 'illegal' weapon was located in the NSS's armament division, whose head is now arrested. The NSS stated they will issue an official announcement soon."
