Video: Employees of the Erebuni Municipality Arrested After Receiving Demanded Money

On July 30, based on operational data received by the Directorate for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes, a resident of the Erebuni administrative district reported to the main department that employees of the Erebuni municipality demanded 50,000 drams from him as a bribe. This demand was made to ensure that the construction of a stone fence for separating yards would not be halted and to avoid an administrative fine of 200,000 drams.

As a result of operational-investigative measures carried out by Directorate officers on July 31, the employees of the relevant division of the Erebuni Municipality were arrested after receiving the money. The cash was found inside a vehicle.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Directorate for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.
