A Facebook user, Naira Baghdasaryan, has published a video on her page, writing: "Eric, who was injured in the attack by Azerbaijanis, is undergoing treatment in the facial and maxillofacial department of the city clinical hospital named after Inozemtsev in Moscow. He has undergone successful jaw surgery. The chief doctor of the department is of Armenian descent. He has provided Eric with a separate room and said that the patient will be discharged next week. Eric also has a concussion, issues with the lens of his eye, and damage to his teeth.

Eric is a professional auto mechanic, or in simpler terms, a car repairman. He is married and has four children. He was born in Sumgait and was 12 years old when the massacres began. Their family moved to Armenia and then to Russia. Eric says he never imagined he would experience the horrors of Sumgait a second time—in Moscow this time. He is terribly worried that he won't be able to work for a long time, and he needs to provide for his family.

The investigation into Eric's case is still ongoing. Seven individuals have been detained, although the attacking group was about 30 people. Eric is also anxious about the possibility that the criminals might escape or receive lenient punishment. He states that if this happens, he will take the case to the European Court of Human Rights to prove that the attack was not mere hooliganism but an attempted murder motivated by ethnic hatred.

According to him, the criminal gang should not only be punished but also provide compensation for the physical and moral damages caused. He emphasizes that just for the restoration of his teeth, he will have to spend a tremendous amount of money, not to mention the costs associated with other injuries.

For this reason, he deeply hopes that their lawyer, Narek Kostanyan, can secure a fair verdict and maximal compensation. Eric is also worried about the safety of himself and his family. He recalls what happened to them, reiterating: people on social media claim they could have driven away without falling into the gang's hands. Eric insists they could not have because their car was stopped at a traffic light, which remains red for about two minutes at that intersection. He explains that if they had tried to drive away, they would have had to cross through a heavy flow of pedestrians.
