Why Arthur Vanetsyan Was Invited to the NSS: Details
The president of the "Homeland" party, Arthur Vanetsyan, is facing political persecution.
Today, news emerged that the National Security Service (NSS) has initiated criminal prosecution against Arthur Vanetsyan, as reported by Arsen Babayan, a member of the "Homeland" party and a human rights defender on his Facebook page.
“Given the numerous inquiries from the press, I find it necessary to state the following: The law enforcement system that has fallen into the hands of Pashinyan has long proven that its primary function has become to subject representatives of opposition political forces to politically motivated persecutions,” Babayan wrote.
“It is evident that there is a politically motivated campaign against Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Homeland" party, preparing fabricated and ludicrous materials as the politicized and thus devastated law enforcement system carries out another task of political persecution.”
“What is the reason for all this? I am confident that the reason is the ever-increasing authority of the "Homeland" party, the mass influx of people that is driving Nikol Pashinyan to a loss of consciousness. Our effective activities in the regions—with each newly opened office, with every successful and effective visit to the regions—drive the political power into hysteria, leading them to resort to their cherished tool: political brute repression and persecution.”
“All of this is another unsuccessful attempt by the political authority to discredit the "Homeland" party and its leader, Arthur Vanetsyan.”
“I remind Nikol Pashinyan that any government that conducts such political persecutions against opposition figures is doomed to failure. There are many such examples...”
P.S. Arthur Vanetsyan will visit the NSS administrative building at 10:00 AM,” Babayan added.
